Our breeding stock are exceptionally well-bred dogs with impressive pedigrees.  Most are titled and working on additional titles.  They are exceptionally social with sound mind and body.  They are loving and playful (and wonderful with our children), yet all business when it comes to hunting or training.  Their even temperament ensures that those qualities are passed on to their puppies.

Although our goal is to breed quality labrador retrievers that are excellent in the field, over half of our puppies are sold as house pets only. This shows the exceptional temperaments that our breedings have produced. These wonderful pups can be phenomenal in the field and also excellent family pets with the intelligence that allows a high level of trainability. A Born2Retrieve puppy will grow to be a well-rounded part of your family.

Born2Retrieve is committed to every pup - throughout its life. If a problem ever arises, please contact us immediately. If for any reason you cannot keep the pup/dog, please call us first. We guarantee your puppy against inherited hip/elbow dysplasia and inherited ocular disease for thirty months from the date of whelp. Full refund of purchase price upon written proof of above disease from your vet and a letter from the OFA. In the case of inherited ocular disease, we will need written proof from an Animal Optometrist. Also, we will need proof that your dog has been spayed or neutered. Elwood Blues Ripp’n Katrina - View Pedigree

Kat is very laid back 60lb chocolate female.  She has lots of go in the field but loves to get hugs when she is “off duty”.  Kat has OFA excellent hips.  Her sire is FC Nan-Dool Elwood Blues.  Her dam is Boeuf River Ripp’n Blue Star, SH.  She has several greats – FC AFC Barracuda Blue, MH,   FC AFC Elwood Blues and the only NFC Chocolate in history – NFC AFC Storm’s Riptide Star in her pedigree.  Kat’s pups should be terrific in the field, yet calm and well-mannered as house pets. 

Born2Retrieve Warhawk CEO MH - View Pedigree

Hawk is a 70lb chocolate male who has completed his Master title at the age of 3.  He has an explosive water entry and is never-ending in the field. All of the dogs in his pedigree are all black except for one.  This is the most black that we have ever seen in any chocolate’s pedigree.  His sire is FC AFC High Tech CEO. His dam is HRCH Warkhawks Indian Princess.  All of the dogs in his pedigree are titled. Some titles are in the Canadian program and some are in the HRC program. He has five NAFC, one 3X NFC (the only one in history, a female, NFC NAFC FC AFC Candlewoods Tanks A Lot) and most of the greatest dogs in history are present in the first 3 generations of his pedigree.  Hawk’s hips were rated in the 90th percentile by PennHip.  His hips were noted to be some of the tightest that have ever been rated by PennHip.  Quoted from their documentation was “0% of the group (LABRADOR RETRIEVER GROUP) has tighter hips than your animal”.  Very impressive trait!  Hawk is on the “White List” for Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), meaning he is clear and is not a carrier of this trait. BORN2RETRIEVE'S HARLEY GIRL
Harley is a very pretty dog with an extremely sweet temperament.  She weights 55 pounds and has a dark chocolate coat.  She is very athletic, and loves the body God gave her.  She is known to catch air any time she can even if it means just jumping over another dog.  As athletic as Harley is, in the house she is Miss Manors and happily lies next to the baby's crib for hours.  She comes from lines that are very bold hunters and competitors with outstanding noses and drive.  When in the field working she is full tilt and boogie, but when not working she will just hang out with you.  She currently has 3 AKC Senior Hunter passes in limited testing.  We are expecting great things with this breeding!  These puppies will have all the genetic tools necessary to be great at anything they do.  Harley is owned by Ian and Elizabeth Dunbar but will be vacationing with us here at Born2Retrieve for part of 2010.

Born2Retrieve's Foxxy Lady - View Pedigree

Zoe is a beautiful fox red. She weighs in at a nice 65 lbs.  Her disposition is terrific and she does great both in the field and in her ‘off duty’ role.  Both parents are Master Hunters.  Sire is Riverbenz Bud Lite, MH and comes from the distant lean mac line.  Dam is Riverbenz High Hope, MH and comes from distant show champion and field champion blood lines. Zoe's hips are OFA excellent, elbows normal. 

CHANCE OF A NITRO EXPLOSION, SH - View pedigree

Chance is such a handsome guy! He is an 80 lb Yellow Male. He is very well mannered and extremely lovable. His hips are OFA good (OFA25G) and his elbows are normal.  Chance resulted clear and certification level PIV for his Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM) testing. He completed his Senior Hunter title and will be running his Masters. His strengths are his marking and handling abilities. He is a perfect match for "Lean Mac" females. His Father FC AFC Yellowstone's TNT Explosion comes out of the FC AFC The Marathon Man line and his mother, Sunridge Tua, MH comes out of FC AFC Gunstocks Butch from Winifox.  Chance has an excellent pedigree.
